Strong winds halted the cable car to Sněžka. Further danger threatens at the summit.
The upper section of the Sněžka cable car has been halted due to strong winds, which can operate only up to 60 km/h. The peak is icy, and visitors are advised to use crampons. The lower section remains operational. Wind gusts reached over 111 km/h, with temperatures feeling as low as minus seven degrees Celsius. Tourists can hike the 2.5 km trail from Růžová hora to the summit. Other cable cars in the Eastern Krkonoš region are unaffected by the weather. Saturday's forecast predicts cloudy conditions with occasional showers, and temperatures ranging from nine to twelve degrees Celsius.
