Sint-Lievens-Houtem builds new youth complex for Chiro and playground activities in Vlierzele
A new youth complex is set to be built in Vlierzele, Sint-Lievens-Houtem, approved by the municipal council. The facility will replace outdated infrastructure and include five multifunctional youth rooms, a large multipurpose hall with kitchen and sanitary facilities, and technical spaces. The design incorporates a partially underground layer to minimize environmental impact while providing ample space for youth activities. It will be fully accessible for individuals with disabilities and is located next to a nature reserve, preserving existing forest areas and adding green buffers and a play forest. Mayor Tim De Knyf emphasizes the investment in quality infrastructure for youth organizations, aiming to create a vibrant meeting place for children and young people.
