Sint-Pieters-Leeuw gets a new car-free village square: "Strengthening our village life"
Sint-Pieters-Leeuw is set to create a new car-free village square at the site of the old town hall, which will be demolished. The square aims to be a green meeting place for events like the Christmas market, while the war monument will remain in its current location. To compensate for the loss of parking spaces, the existing parking at the town hall will be expanded. Construction is expected to begin in April 2028. Additionally, a new welfare campus will be developed in Ruisbroek, housing various OCMW services, private homes, a new daycare, and assisted living facilities, with the daycare being prioritized.
