Slovak president calls for a reassessment of the proposal to appoint Kuffa as minister

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini has urged Prime Minister Robert Fico to reconsider the appointment of Filip Kuffa as Minister of Environment due to ongoing criminal investigations related to the ministry. Pellegrini expressed concerns that Kuffa's current role as deputy minister could be implicated in the case. Fico plans to meet with SNS leader Andrej Danko, as the coalition agreement allows SNS to propose the minister. Pellegrini emphasized that his stance does not equate to a final decision against Kuffa's appointment, which could undermine public trust in state institutions. The SNS party previously allied with the opposition to express no confidence in former minister Tomáš Taraba, leading to Fico temporarily overseeing the ministry.
