Death during police intervention. Former police officers convicted
A court in Lublin found two police officers guilty of exceeding their authority and causing the death of a man during an arrest. They received a suspended sentence and a ban on police work. The incident occurred in August 2020 when officers responded to reports of an aggressive individual. The court determined that the officers used excessive force, leading to the man's asphyxiation. The defense plans to appeal, arguing that the officers acted in the public interest and were not adequately trained to recognize the signs of asphyxiation. The verdict is not yet final.
