Many voters and irregularities in the Serbian elections, Vucic would accept defeat too
As of 4 PM on Sunday, 56.38% of eligible voters participated in Serbia's early parliamentary elections, a significant increase from 42.36% in the previous election. Election monitoring organizations reported numerous irregularities, including voter intimidation and suspected vote buying. The CRTA organization noted pressure on voters in 29% of polling stations and procedural violations in 18%. CeSID received over 200 reports of alleged irregularities, including family and group voting. The elections are crucial as President Aleksandar Vucic seeks to transition to the prime ministerial role, facing opposition from student protesters demanding accountability for a recent tragedy. Political figures emphasized the importance of peaceful and democratic elections, with Vucic stating he would accept the voters' will if defeated, while opposition leaders expressed hopes for a lawful process.
