Many would build a wind farm, with 2300 megawatts of offers for the 700 capacity
A recent tender for wind power capacity in Hungary attracted significant interest, with 46 applications from 37 investors proposing nearly 2300 megawatts of new wind farms. However, only about 700 megawatts of new capacity can be connected to the grid in the first round. The Hungarian government aims to enhance energy independence and security by developing the network with EU funds. The deadline for submissions was October 30, and the earliest connection date is set for September 30, 2030. Minister István Kapitány emphasized the importance of wind energy as a complement to solar power and noted that applicants also committed to building battery storage facilities.
