European flights received bomb threats, several airports were closed.
On Tuesday, several European passenger planes received bomb threat messages while in the air, prompting safe landings at their destinations. Three Ryanair flights heading to Murcia and Rome were affected, as well as two flights to Poland from Scandinavian Airlines and LOT. An Israeli El Al flight from Tel Aviv to Sofia also received a threat but landed safely. All aircraft and luggage were searched, revealing no bombs, and normal operations resumed at the airports. The origin of the messages is unknown, and it remains unclear if they are connected to a previous threat involving a Wizz Air flight redirected to Budapest. NATO's ALPHA alert was activated in response, with Hungarian defense forces ensuring the safe landing of the aircraft.
