Sudan: more than twenty dead after a drone attack on a market in Nyala
A drone attack on a market in Nyala, Sudan, resulted in 21 deaths and 40 injuries on October 26. The Sudanese army frequently targets Nyala, where the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have established rival authority. A medical source could not confirm how many victims were RSF fighters. The following day, RSF drones attacked a power plant in Khartoum. These incidents follow coordinated RSF operations that caused widespread power outages. Since April 2023, Sudan has been embroiled in conflict between the RSF and the regular army, leading to over 200,000 deaths and severe humanitarian crises. UN reports indicate that drone attacks have killed over 300 civilians in October alone.
