A group of hackers is causing significant financial losses to supermarkets across Europe by manipulating refrigeration systems. By raising freezer temperatures to over 50ºC, stores in Sweden, Ireland, Estonia, Belgium, and Luxembourg have lost products. A similar attack occurred in France amid protests against the government. Additionally, Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, was hacked, resulting in the theft of $6.3 billion in virtual funds, prompting global withdrawals. This highlights the vulnerabilities of digitalization, which, while convenient, exposes society to cybercrime and hybrid attacks. Governments and corporations must allocate more resources to combat these threats, as technological advancements paradoxically increase citizens' fragility.
