Spectacular operation of the services in Lower Silesia. Citizens of Paraguay and Poland caught red-handed
A routine truck inspection led to the discovery of 9.9 million cigarettes without Polish tax stamps. Investigations revealed illegal tobacco production in rented warehouses in Wołów County. Fourteen Paraguayans and four Poles were arrested during the operation, facing charges of organized crime and tax offenses. Authorities seized an additional 4.7 million cigarettes and over 8.5 tons of tobacco during searches. The total amount of illegal cigarettes reached 14.6 million, potentially costing the Polish Treasury over 31 million PLN in unpaid taxes if sold on the market.
