On December 8, 2025, a man's body with severe burns was found in an abandoned house in Grodzisk Wielkopolski. The autopsy revealed death due to respiratory and circulatory failure from multiple burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. Prosecutor Łukasz Wawrzyniak stated that the victim suffered extreme pain as he was doused with gasoline and set on fire. Investigators collected evidence and identified a suspect, 30-year-old Jakub K., a friend of the deceased. He was charged with murder with intent and cruelty but denied guilt during the investigation and trial. The trial began in Poznań, where he also refused to testify. The next hearing is scheduled for early January 2026, with Jakub K. facing a life sentence.
