Portuguese startup brings urban flood prevention technology to the United States and Mexico

The Portuguese startup greenmetrics.ai has expanded its urban flood prevention technology to the United States and Mexico. The company, which previously operated in Portugal and Brazil, has launched its first early warning system in Florida and a pilot project in Cuajimalpa, Mexico City. This expansion is facilitated by a partnership with RescAlert Inc. in the U.S. and Alta Prevención WT México in Mexico. The technology uses compact sensors to monitor rainfall and waterways, providing real-time alerts to emergency services. Founded in 2022, greenmetrics.ai aims to enhance its AI-driven platform by 2027 to predict flooding before it occurs, thereby reducing social and economic impacts.
