Station tunnel in Lier gets mural with sheep and vlaaikes: "More pleasant gateway"

The station tunnel in Lier is undergoing a colorful transformation with a 250 square meter mural featuring local symbols like the Zimmertoren and Lierse vlaaikes. The project aims to create a more pleasant entrance to the city, as previous conditions were uninviting. Travelers have responded positively to the mural, which showcases Lier's traditions and landmarks. NMBS has invested 30,000 euros in the project and will apply a protective coating to prevent graffiti. Similar projects have been successful in other stations, enhancing the overall atmosphere for commuters.
