Votes in Israel have been counted: Netanyahu wins, but does not have a majority

Netanyahu's Likud party secured 27 out of 120 seats in the elections, while Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party gained 21 seats. Together with allied parties, Netanyahu's bloc totals 53 seats, falling short of the 61 needed for a majority. The Arab parties Ra'am and the Joint List performed well, winning 19 seats, but collaboration with them seems unlikely. The election results will be formally presented to President Isaac Herzog, who will consult party leaders before appointing someone to attempt to form a government.
