Support zone around Sappi in Lanaken creates 937 new jobs in Limburg in 2 years

In the support zone around the closed Sappi paper mill in Lanaken, 53 investment projects have been supported, resulting in 937 new jobs over two years. Companies that invest and hire additional staff benefit from a 25% exemption on corporate tax, reducing net labor costs by about 5%. This initiative, which started on November 1, 2024, aims to stimulate growth and employment in the region. UNIZO Limburg emphasizes the importance of informing businesses about this measure to reach the goal of over 1,000 jobs by 2030.
