Disabled cargo ship in North Sea is sailing again, rescue boats turn back
The UHL Freedom cargo ship, which became nearly uncontrollable north of Schiermonnikoog, is now sailing again with limited engine power. The vessel lost anchor grip and experienced engine issues, injuring three of its 25 crew members. A large-scale rescue operation was initiated, involving helicopters, planes, and rescue boats from the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution. The Guardian tugboat is on standby near the ship, ready to assist if necessary. The UHL Freedom, nearly 150 meters long, operates under the Portuguese flag and is designed for transporting heavy cargo.
