The U16 national team footballer who pushed the referee has been severely banned.
Győr defender Roland Umathum received a red card for pushing referee Erni Edmond Attila during a U16 match against Lithuania. The Hungarian Football Association suspended him until February 15, 2027, citing serious unsportsmanlike conduct. The club believes the punishment is excessive for a young player who has never been sent off before. Umathum signed his first professional contract at 14 and has already played in a senior match. His brother, Ádám, is part of the ETO first team, contributing to their current second-place standing in the league.
