European supermarkets hit. Hackers force food to be thrown away

Cyber attackers compromised refrigeration systems in supermarkets across six European countries, causing food waste worth millions. The incidents affected chains like Delhaize, Carrefour, ICA, Coop, and SuperValu. In Belgium and Luxembourg, around 40 Delhaize stores were impacted, leading to significant losses. The Belgian manufacturer Sabcobel confirmed the cyber attack and is working on protective measures. Carrefour managed to limit damage to 15 stores, while other countries experienced smaller-scale attacks. Authorities noted similarities to a previous incident in France.
