American surfer Griffin Colapinto conquers Peniche for the third time

American surfer Griffin Colapinto won the elite surfing event in Peniche, defeating Brazilian Gabriel Medina and achieving his third victory in Portugal. Colapinto scored 17.60 points, while Medina scored 16.77. This win elevated Colapinto to third place in the world rankings, behind Yago Dora and Ítalo Ferreira. In the women's event, Australian Molly Picklum secured her first victory in Portugal by defeating Caitlin Simmers in the final. The Meo Rip Curl Pro Portugal was the 10th event of the World Surf League circuit, held from October 16 to 23.
