The parliament voted on private equity funds, the actual owners will be identifiable

The Hungarian Parliament approved a proposal to regulate private equity funds, ensuring transparency regarding their actual owners. This decision, made with 193 votes in favor, aims to modify existing securities confidentiality rules. The government previously decided to review the operations of private equity funds to clarify ownership structures. The new law redefines who qualifies as a beneficial owner, including founders and trustees. Additionally, individuals transferring over €10,000 in cash across borders must report this to designated authorities. The law will take effect three days after its announcement. The Parliament also approved the National Bank's report for 2025.
