Head of GDDKiA branch arrested. He faces seven charges

The head of the Wrocław branch of GDDKiA has been detained on charges of exceeding authority related to procurement procedures and document forgery. Investigators allege he retaliated against whistleblowers who reported irregularities in civil service recruitment. The most serious charge carries a potential 10-year prison sentence for acting to gain personal benefits. Waldemar W., who took the position in 2024, was interrogated on October 27 and denied the allegations. He is currently under police supervision and has been suspended from duties, not receiving a salary, although he has not been formally dismissed. The central GDDKiA is expected to comment on the situation soon.
