Shocking fraud in Silesian clinics. 4 thousand charges for falsifying documentation

Police in Katowice are investigating irregularities at two clinics in Zabrze and Tychy, where false environmental therapy records were created between 2020 and 2021. Evidence suggests that a company manager instructed staff to falsify medical documentation to justify reimbursement claims from the National Health Fund (NFZ). Approximately 500 witnesses were interviewed, and extensive medical documentation was seized, along with securing assets worth 96,000 PLN. The co-owner of the company faces 3,963 charges, including fraud against the NFZ exceeding 163,500 PLN. The suspect has confessed and agreed to accept a penalty, with the misappropriated funds returned to the NFZ. In October, the prosecutor's office requested a court ruling without a trial.
