League Cup. Sporting must win to reach the final four after two defeats

Sporting must win against Marítimo to advance to the Taça da Liga final four after two recent defeats. The team, currently nine points behind FC Porto, faces a Marítimo side that has struggled recently. The competition format allows only the top six teams from the previous Primeira Liga season and the top two from the Segunda Liga to qualify for the quarter-finals. The final four will take place in Leiria, with semi-finals scheduled for early January.
