Russia has never faced such losses. A strong strike from the Ukrainians
Ukrainian President Zelensky reported that Russia suffered record losses of 54,400 soldiers in one month, marking the highest monthly casualties since the war began in February 2022. He noted that this number is equivalent to the size of nine military parades in Moscow. On October 21, Russian forces lost 2,250 soldiers in a single day, also a record. Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainian forces liberated 96.2 square kilometers of territory, surpassing the area occupied by Russian troops. He urged Russia to pursue a diplomatic resolution to end the conflict and reduce these significant losses, which independent analyses estimate to be between 1.1 to 1.5 million total casualties since the invasion began.
