Tao: the new regulation does not eliminate one of the main anomalies
Two weeks ago, Prime Minister Péter Magyar announced the termination of the sports funding system starting January 1. On October 27, proposals for amending the relevant law were submitted to Parliament. Following the announcement, a closed meeting was held with sports federation leaders, but many questions remain regarding the transition. The government has published data on sports funding from corporate taxes over the past eleven years, highlighting that the figures represent issued confirmations rather than actual funds received. Notably, the same federations that created the funding framework will continue to allocate the funds, indicating no significant personnel changes since the April government transition. This suggests that real reform in the funding system may not be forthcoming.
