A president of a football club in Zala embezzled 35 million in Tao funds.
A president of a football club in Zala County faces charges for budget fraud, failing to account for over 35 million HUF in funding received from the Hungarian Football Association. Between 2017 and 2022, he applied for support for sports development programs but did not submit necessary documentation for expenses. Despite receiving over 65 million HUF in total support, he only accounted for 21.2 million HUF and voluntarily returned 720,000 HUF. The Zalaegerszeg District Prosecutor's Office has charged him with failing to fulfill accounting obligations. Additionally, the government recently published data on sports funding, revealing discrepancies in how some clubs utilized these funds.
