The RUN X World Treadmill Championship has launched, allowing participants to compete globally by running five kilometers on a treadmill in registered gyms. Organized by World Athletics and Technogym, the event involves around 400 gyms across 20 countries. Competitors can attempt the distance multiple times, with only their best time counting. The championship features seven age categories, and the finals will take place in March 2027 in Cesena, Italy, with a total prize pool of $100,000. This innovative format aims to modernize traditional running competitions.
