Handball coach of Sporting accuses security of assault after match with FC Porto

Ricardo Costa, the handball coach of Sporting, reported being assaulted by a security guard at Dragão Arena after a match against FC Porto. He stated that while preparing for a flash interview, a steward threw him to the ground, which he condemned as unacceptable behavior. Costa announced that Sporting would file a complaint regarding the incident. This occurrence follows a previous controversy involving the same teams, where Sporting alleged a toxic smell in the locker room during a prior match, leading to hospital visits for Costa and a player, claims denied by FC Porto. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, previously met with the club presidents to address these issues.
