Ted Bundy may have killed a 17-year-old girl murdered more than fifty years ago

Recent DNA testing suggests that Ted Bundy may have murdered 17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith in 1974. Smith, the daughter of a local police chief, was found dead with signs of sexual assault and torture. Earlier this year, Bundy's DNA was also linked to another victim, Laura Ann Aime, who disappeared in 1974. Bundy confessed to killing two women in Utah before his execution in 1989, but details remain scarce. Authorities attribute at least 30 murders to him across the U.S. and continue to investigate potential Bundy-related cases. Bundy was first arrested in 1975 for kidnapping and escaped prison twice before committing more murders until 1978.
