Is the country really paralyzed? Lőrinc Mészáros's legacy also complicates the dreamed railway development

Rail freight carriers express concern over the Baross Gábor railway development plan, which involves significant disruptions. The plan, costing 3,550 billion HUF, will lead to extensive track closures, particularly affecting freight transport. Major projects include a year-long complete track closure between Nyíregyháza and Debrecen, with bus replacements for passenger services. Freight carriers will face challenges due to the lack of accessible tracks and the need for alternative routes and storage tracks, which are not feasible everywhere. Other significant disruptions are expected between Almásfüzitő and Komárom, and a complete reconstruction of Szolnok station, a key junction in eastern Hungary.
