The government has mapped the sports-tao supports
The Hungarian government, led by Bálint Ruff, has created an interactive map detailing the distribution of sports funding under the Orbán administrations. The analysis covers six major team sports, revealing that over eleven years, 28,688 independent programs and 3,119 beneficiaries were identified from 28,712 data entries. The data reflects the value of issued confirmations rather than actual funds received. The largest share, 120 billion HUF, went to the Hungarian Football Association, followed by handball and basketball. Starting January 1, the current funding system will be replaced by a direct budget allocation of 150 billion HUF for sports, as the government aims to eliminate the opaque and corrupt nature of the previous funding model.
