Terror group ADF earns a fortune by exporting gold from Congo to Uganda

The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a terrorist group supported by ISIS, finances its operations through gold sales from mines in Eastern Congo, exporting to Uganda. This revenue stream has provided ADF with financial independence from ISIS. The group has been responsible for over 1,000 deaths in Congo's Ituri and North Kivu provinces last year alone. ADF controls mines that yield significant profits, with estimates suggesting they could earn even more from gold trade. The gold is refined in Uganda before being exported, primarily to the UAE. Recent investigations have linked Belgian businessman Alain Goetz to illegal gold operations in the region, prompting calls for further investigations by international bodies.
