Tetto agli studenti stranieri a scuola, la Ue: “I trattati vietano ogni discriminazione”

European treaties prohibit any form of discrimination based on nationality, both direct and indirect. Nicola Zingaretti from the PD criticized the Italian government's law limiting foreign students per class, calling it a rejection by the European Commission. The Commission, represented by Vice President Roxana Minzatu, is closely monitoring the legislative developments of this law. Minzatu emphasized that EU citizens can invoke the prohibition of nationality discrimination in relevant situations. Zingaretti argued that the government's decree is not only illogical but also violates European treaties, urging for investments in education rather than quotas for foreign students.
