The Modernist Weekend extends to Olhão and Tavira

The Modernist Weekend, celebrating modernist architecture, will expand beyond Faro to Olhão and Tavira for its fifth edition from November 6-8. Organizer Christophe de Oliveira noted the growing interest in modernism since the event's inception in 2022. The event highlights the significance of modernist architecture in the Algarve, particularly the work of architect Manuel Gomes da Costa. This year's program includes visits to a digital art museum and guided tours showcasing modernist influences in Olhão and Faro. The event aims for quality over quantity, focusing on lesser-known sites, with a participation cap similar to last year's 500 attendees.
