Thélyson Orélien removed from the list of finalists for the Renaudot prize

Six novels have been shortlisted for the Renaudot Prize, with Thélyson Orélien's work excluded due to AI usage allegations. The jury, led by Frédéric Beigbeder, initially included Orélien's novel but later removed it after his Canadian publisher severed ties, confirming AI involvement in the writing process. Orélien's book, which narrates a flight from violence in Haiti, has also been withdrawn from the Goncourt and Femina selections. The finalists for the Renaudot Prize include works by François-Henri Désérable, David Djaïz, Patrice Jean, Osvalde Lewat, Anne Percin, and Marie Petitcuénot. The essay category features four finalists, with winners to be announced on November 3.
