Tienen centralizes rental service and removes game cases and bouncy castles for associations

The Tienen city council is reducing its youth and culture material lending service, centralizing it in one location. Starting in 2027, volunteers and associations will no longer have access to items like game kits and bouncy castles, which opposition party Team Tienen claims is detrimental to community organizations. Previously, the lending of chairs and tables was also eliminated. The council argues that many items were rarely borrowed and that associations can find cheaper alternatives in stores. However, this change means associations will need to travel further to access provincial lending services, although they will receive higher quality materials. The city is considering ways to continue offering bouncy castles despite the cuts.
