Tiense mystica gets spotlight again: "Many people no longer know Beatrijs"

A special exhibition about Beatrijs van Nazareth is currently taking place in Tienen, aiming to highlight this significant historical figure. The event features historical heritage alongside contemporary art, music, and walks related to her life story. Beatrijs, born around 1200 in Tienen, was a key figure in the 13th-century mystical movement and wrote in Middle Dutch. The exhibition includes performances by artists and a choir presenting music related to her and other mystics. Visitors can also explore her life through a guided walk in Oplinter and view stained glass windows depicting her story in the Sint-Germanuskerk. A lecture about her life will be held on October 31.
