Temporary childcare for 28 children in old school of Pellenberg: "Years of shortage of places"

A temporary childcare facility for 28 children will open in January at the former school building in Pellenberg, Lubbeek. This initiative addresses the ongoing shortage of childcare places in the area. The new facility is part of a broader plan by 't Eekhoorntje to establish a permanent location in Linden, with construction expected to begin next year and completed by summer 2028. The former school became available after the local school relocated to a newly restored site. The municipality plans to redevelop the old school building in the future, but this will take time. The temporary facility will operate until August 31, 2028.
