David Vitézy announced the renovation of ten railway stations in the North Balaton region
The Hungarian government is set to renovate ten railway stations and stops in the northern Balaton region, as announced by Minister Dávid Vitézy. Funding for these renovations has become available through EU resources, with contracts taking effect at the end of October. New station buildings will be constructed in Polgárdi and Füle, while existing structures in several locations will be refurbished. Accessibility improvements include new platforms and station environment upgrades. Significant developments are also planned for Balatonfüred, including platform elevation and the construction of three lifts. The renovation of Balatonalmádi station is also on the agenda, with a tender to be announced soon. Balatonakarattya is excluded from the program due to local opposition. Vitézy mentioned that a similar initiative will be launched on the southern shore in the future.
