The prosecutor's office is taking action in multiple locations regarding the MNB case
New developments are expected in the MNB case as the Central Investigative Prosecutor's Office conducted coordinated actions at multiple locations. The investigation involves the National Investigation Bureau, the Budapest Police Headquarters, and the National Security Service, with the Counter-Terrorism Center ensuring procedural activities. The case revolves around the MNB's alleged mismanagement of public funds, with accusations of embezzlement linked to foundations established by the bank. Although the investigation began this year, concerns about the foundations have been reported since the 2010s. A parliamentary committee has been formed to identify responsible parties. The State Audit Office has also raised issues regarding the MNB's operations, including connections to the former bank president's associates.
