The water level of the Tisza has risen further, and the Tiszalök Hydroelectric Power Plant has started operating again.
The Tisza River's water level exceeded 450 centimeters, prompting the Tiszalöki Hydroelectric Power Plant to resume operations after being halted due to drought. The plant was shut down on August 29, with emphasis on its primary role in regulating water flow rather than energy production. The shutdown resulted in a loss of 12.9 MW of electricity, representing 0.65% of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant's capacity. Following a summer production crisis, the Paks facility faced another issue with a turbine's unexpected shutdown, although repairs were completed in half a day.
