EGEAC workers demand salary negotiations for 2026
Workers from the Lisbon Cultural Equipment and Animation Management Company (EGEAC) have submitted a letter demanding salary negotiations for 2026. Union representative Nuno Almeida stated that the letter was delivered after a protest at the company's headquarters, where workers expressed their desire for negotiations and responses to their demands. Since May, the union has requested a meeting to continue discussions regarding salary increases, but the management has refused. Workers are increasingly anxious about the rising cost of living and fear that management may avoid negotiations. If the situation does not change, workers may consider other forms of protest, including involving the Lisbon City Council and the Directorate-General for Employment and Labor Relations (DGERT).
