Tragedy in Argentina: 12-day-old newborn died after being struck by falling avocado

A tragic incident occurred in Quilmes, Argentina, where a heavy avocado fell from a height of 10 meters, striking a 12-day-old baby, Lucas. His mother, Giuliana Gómez, was taking her son to preschool when the accident happened. Despite attempts by other parents and teachers to help, emergency services did not arrive for 30 minutes. Lucas was taken to the hospital by his father, but after surgery, he succumbed to severe head injuries three days later. The family had previously requested the trimming of the avocado trees due to falling fruits. Local authorities claim the trees were healthy, but an investigation into involuntary manslaughter has been initiated.
