US court sentences two Chinese spies to 30 months in prison

Two Chinese nationals were sentenced to 30 months in prison for espionage against the U.S., having admitted to recruiting military personnel and gathering sensitive information for China. Liren Lai and Yuance Chen were involved in covert operations, including money deliveries for classified data. Their espionage activities began in May 2021 and ended with their arrest in June 2025. Both pleaded guilty to conspiracy and acting as agents of a foreign government without notifying U.S. authorities.
