Trinitarians, the 300, Barrio 18... The Mossos detect 34 violent Latin gangs

Catalan police have identified 34 violent Latin gangs in Catalonia, including Trinitarios and Barrio 18. A recent murder linked to these gangs highlights their resurgence since 2024. The Mossos d'Esquadra report around 400 youths involved in such groups, which now exhibit more multicultural and flexible structures compared to the past. To combat this trend, they have launched Plan Proa, aimed at preventing new gangs and dismantling existing ones through coordinated efforts and intelligence gathering.
