Difficult conditions in the Tatra Mountains. TPN warns of snow and ice on the trails

Recent snowfall in the Tatra Mountains has led to 10 centimeters of snow at higher altitudes. The Tatra National Park warns that trails above the tree line are covered in snow and ice, making navigation difficult and increasing the risk of falls. Currently, there is a low avalanche risk at elevations above 1600 meters, but small and medium avalanches may occur, especially with heavy snowfall. The park advises that only experienced hikers should venture into these areas, equipped with proper gear and skills. The Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue emphasizes the need to check weather and avalanche reports before heading out.
