Trump on the request made to Putin. "We'll see what happens"

Donald Trump has requested Vladimir Putin to release American citizen Stephen Hubbard, detained in Russia since 2022 for fighting as a mercenary for Ukraine. Hubbard, over 70, was sentenced to nearly seven years in prison in 2024. Trump expressed his desire to bring Hubbard home, stating he discussed the matter extensively with Putin. The release of Hubbard is expected to be a topic of discussion during Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff's upcoming talks in St. Petersburg.
