Earthquake in Tibet. 16 people are dead
A strong earthquake struck northern Tibet, resulting in 16 fatalities and injuries to 54 others. The quake's epicenter was in Baqen County, at an altitude of over 4800 meters. Approximately 359 homes collapsed, and over 300 buildings were damaged. Rescue operations involve over 1600 responders, focusing on search and medical care for the injured. Tibet is seismically active due to the collision of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, with a previous quake in 2025 causing significant casualties.
