Three out of four British nuclear submarines went to sea simultaneously
According to "The Times", it is unusual for three out of four British submarines crucial for the nuclear deterrent to be at sea simultaneously. This indicates an improvement in their combat readiness. At least one submarine is on a routine patrol with Trident ballistic missiles onboard. Experts suggest that one of the Vanguard submarines is likely preparing to replace another on patrol, while a third is undergoing sea trials. The presence of three submarines at sea reflects enhanced readiness, which has been a concern for the Royal Navy in recent years. Continuous presence of at least one Vanguard submarine is seen as essential for the UK's security and deterrence against aggression. Any change in the UK's nuclear deterrent strategy would send a significant signal to adversaries. The UK, alongside France, is the only European NATO country with its own nuclear weapons.
